DAY 1: GENESIS 2:4–17 — The Garden of Eden
16. What was the first man’s home like?
The Garden of Eden was a beautiful and perfect home. Everything Adam needed was there—fresh water, all kinds of trees with delicious fruit, animals, and a peaceful environment. It was full of life, beauty, and harmony, showing God’s love and care.
17. What work did God give to the man?
God gave Adam the job of taking care of the garden—cultivating it, watching over it, and naming the animals. It was meaningful work, not hard labor, because it was part of God’s perfect plan for creation.
18. Did God limit the man in any way? If so, how, and why?
Yes, God gave Adam one rule: not to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. God did this to test Adam’s obedience and love. The rule reminded Adam that God was in charge and that true freedom comes from trusting and obeying Him.
